After having inspired audiences outside their home countries for the first time on SXSW, The Great Escape and Fuji Rock, the debut album 'Half Mile Harvest' by The Teskey Brothers is now being re-released on Decca Records and Vertigo, along with the two new tracks 'I Get Up' and 'Say You'll Do'. The Yarra Valley brothers Josh ( vocals ) & Sam Teskey ( guitar ) share their love for 60s American soul music with their neighborhood friends Brendon Love ( bass ) and Liam Gough ( drums ). Listeners of the album inevitably feel transported back to Memphis in 1967.
Half Mile Harvest' was recorded completely analogue with an old tape machine and honours the sound of old Stax Records and Motown records. Despite the reminiscences of their musical heroes, the band's irresistible groove and Josh Teskey's smoky whiskey voice still turn the whole thing into something very independent.
Absolutely listen in and ... buy!
