Featuring a titanium body made with Ortofon's Selective Laser Melting technique (SLM), and a magnet system with optimized geometry, Diamond MC reproduces music without compromise. It offers an ideal balance of precision and naturalism, replicates micro- and macro-dynamics with equal prowess, and delivers fluid tonality and texture. To call Diamond MC “vivid” would almost be an understatement. 

Enhanced specifically for Diamond MC, Ortofon's Wide-Range armature damping system makes unwanted resonance and distortion problems of the past. In this system, a small, heavy platinum disc is sandwiched between two rubber absorbers with different properties. The approach creates superior damping through the entire frequency spectrum. Ortofon based the new rubber compound formula on the Multi Wall Carbon Nano Tube (MWCNT) nano filler. It allows for optimal interaction between compliance and damping, thereby improving stability leading to off-the-charts fidelity. 

Naturally, the prominent feature that gives the cartridge its name plays a huge role in taking you to the original recorded event. Sporting a thin, light profile and extraordinarily large contact surface, the Replicant 100 diamond mirrors the shape of the cutting stylus and traces with exacting accuracy. Special polishing of the diamond, along with the use of a diamond cantilever, provides the best-possible interface between the stylus and lightweight, precision-molded, non-magnetic armature. When combined with ultra-pure oxygen-free copper coil wire, it delivers extremely exact reproduction of the cantilever movements.
